Facial Markings
There are two types of masks. One is a "crown" mask, and the other is a "V" mask. The reds, pandas, dark eyed whites and harlequins will not have a mask. A blaze ferret will usually have color over the eyes, or a divided "badger" mask. Sometimes a ferret has "eye rings". A Harlequin ferret has highly irregular facial and head markings. Since these ferrets are sometimes associated with the gene for deafness, we do not intentionally breed for them, but occasionally will have them born in a litter. They are available for adoption, but cannot be requested or preordered before they are born as with our normal types.
Coat Patterns
The coat patterns are:
1. All over coloring with no distinctive leg, tail or mask color.
2. Siamese markings like a siamese cat with the darker tail, legs and mask
Eye Colors
The eyes can be black, pink, ruby red, or blue. A white ferret that is a diluted silver, usually turning to mostly white, is referred to as a "DEW" or Dark Eyed White. An albino ferret with red eyes is referred to as a REW. Most of the eyes are dark, however, some of our ferrets have navy blue eyes.
Nose Colors
The nose can be pink, black, or black and pink with the black looking like a "T." Sometimes the nose will appear speckled.
